Emily Martin
A native New Yorker, Emily Martin has performed as a solo pianist and chamber musician for
audiences in the United States and internationally, at venues such as Weill Recital Hall, Merkin
Concert Hall, Steinway Hall, Tenri Cultural Institute, and at numerous events held at Gracie
Mansion. Emily holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from New York
University, where she studied with Seymour Bernstein and Eteri Andjaparidze. In 2020, she co-
founded and served as Artistic Director of A Classical Quarantine, a virtual piano concert series
designed to bring music to audience’s homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently,
Emily participated in Piano Works in Progress, a residency in northern Vermont for professional
pianists dedicated to the exploration and mastery of newer repertoire and the presentation of
these works to the local community.
Emily is currently on the piano faculty at The Spence School and maintains a vibrant private
studio in Manhattan. She is also a composer, her work having been presented at her own solo
recitals and premiered at NYU’s Youth Music Festival. When not at the piano, Emily enjoys
photography, hiking, and playing competitive croquet. She is a member of the New York Croquet
Club where she serves on the Board of Directors.
