Eligibility
All students age 18 or under. At least one member of the ensemble must be a pupil of the sponsoring teacher. Beginners through advanced students are welcome.
Repertoire
For Recital: Any original composition for four-hand piano, six-hand piano, two pianos, and instrumental or vocal ensemble with piano is welcome. Arrangements, transcriptions, and concertos are also acceptable.
For Competition: Any movement of an original composition for instrumental ensemble with ONE piano.
Competition Opportunity
ADVANCED CHAMBER/ENSEMBLE GROUPS WITH ONE PIANO. The groups awarded First Place and Second Place by the adjudicators will receive cash prizes (First: $200 and Second: $100) perform in the PTC Honors Program Winners Recital at Merkin Hall.
Performances on Sunday, February 28th, 2027 2:00pm-6:00pm. The chamber music competition will be adjudicated live by a panel of judges. PTC Honors Winners Concert at Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Center, NYC, is on Saturday, April 17th, 2027 at 7:30pm.
Performer's Fees
RECITAL ONLY: Fees are based on total time each student performs, not on their level.
$45 for performances of less than 4 minutes.
$55 for performances of 4 to 8 minutes.
$65 for performances of 8 to 12 minutes.
CHAMBER MUSIC COMPETITION to play at Merkin Hall:
$165 for under 4 minutes.
$175 for 4-8 minutes.
$185 for 8-10 minutes.
The application fee is non-refundable.
Awards
First Place: $200 and a performance at the Honors Program Winners’ Recital
Second Place: $100 and a performance at the Honors Program Winners’ Recital
Third Place and Honorable Mention: Winners Certificates
A Certificate of Performance will be presented to all participants.
